Game Over Mechanics
If three animals die (from Shift 6 onward), the run ends - and if Ratthew dies during one of his visits, he is gone for that run. He does not come back in the same campaign.
Restart Required
To get his reward you must start a fresh run and make sure he survives every scheduled visit. Treat him as a normal patient: never reject him with the shutter and never let an anomaly hurt him.
The Visits
You encounter Ratthew across roughly five visits, starting around Shift 2-3. Each time:
- Treat his ailment successfully
- Never reject or harm him
- Protect him from in-hospital threats
The Reward
On his final visit he sits at the counter and tells the story of his missing twin sister Rattina. He leaves behind Ratthew's Key, which opens the hidden safe behind the cat painting in the first unlocked corridor and reveals lore about the Animal Corporation.
