1What's in the Update

The Hazmat Team update landed on July 25, 2026. It adds a two-shift slime contamination event, the unkillable Slimebert anomaly, the new Firefighter class, Sam the hazmat cat NPC, the Journal with achievements, and a wave of new skins.

2The Slime Event (Shifts 11-12)

Beginning on Shift 11, green slime and fog contaminate the hospital. The slime spreads quickly, and the Animal Corporation deploys two hazmat-suited NPCs who slowly clean it up. A new slime anomaly called Slimebert roams the hospital during these two shifts, devouring players and patients while leaving more slime behind. It cannot be defeated - a fire extinguisher only slows it down. The contamination disappears at the end of Shift 12.

3The Firefighter Class

The new Firefighter class costs 1,100 Animal Coins. It carries a personal Fire Extinguisher that recharges automatically while not in use. Level 1 gives you the extinguisher and +1 inventory capacity, Level 2 restores 1 sanity whenever you put out a fire, and Level 3 makes you immune to sanity drain from fires while adding +10 maximum sanity.

4Sam the Hazmat Cat

After surviving the slime event, Sam - a calico cat in a hazmat suit - offers to work at the hospital. He cleans up slime contamination whenever it appears and leaves when there is none. He is one of the most useful helpers for keeping the hospital under control.

5Journal & Achievements

The new Journal tracks every unique anomaly and NPC you encounter, starting with this update. A new achievement set rewards Animal Coins for each completed achievement, giving you a steady income for class upgrades.

6New Skins

The update adds skins for Intern (Rascal, Detective Intern, Limited Banana Intern), Nurse (Fluffy, Maroon, Assistant), Head Nurse (Old School Fox, Supervisor), and Secret Agent (Noir, Limited Agent Blueberry).

7The Stalker & The UV Camera

The Stalker remains one of the event's biggest lore hooks. Taking its photo makes the image burn instantly, and a UV scan comes back completely black. Combined with Liz's UV camera quest from the Harlow's Favorite update, this strongly implies the Stalker's true origin is tied to the hospital's past.

8Survival Tips for the Event

Keep a fire extinguisher ready before Shift 11 - it slows Slimebert and clears slime. Split your team: one player on the window while others clean contamination. Remember the event is temporary: survive both shifts and the hospital returns to normal. Coffee discipline matters more than ever, since the slime adds constant sanity pressure.

9Lore Connections

The Hazmat event is the payoff of a tease from the Harlow's Favorite update, where Dr. Harlow had a quick interaction with a man in a hazmat suit driving a truck of Animal Corporation-branded boxes. The story continues to circle the Animal Corporation and the truth behind the hospital's anomalies.
